Working while traveling part 2

So, I did not manage to get any work done while in Key West. Honestly I seem to find it hard to work at a hotel room. While I will need to bite down and adjust in the long run, I opted to get some more classical office access the next few months where I traveling inside the US.

Doing some research I ended up singing up for WeWork. Mostly because they have offices in Boston, Portland & Washington D.C. - All places I will be visiting for an extended amount of time during my US travels.

My offset setup at WeWorks - Park South. (Come say hi!)

After a bit of math, I opted for the $350 / Month commons package as I will be using the office space for more than 6 days / month.

Showing up on my first day was however a bit of a disappointment, it turns out that WeWork’s definition of “workspace” for commons members are not communal working desks, but simply access to their reception area.

The experience is closer to a high quality, less noisy, coffee-shop where no-one asks why you are sitting there for 5+ hours, than an office. Likewise I found it super important to arrive early to get one of the few tables the common area offers.

However so far it’s been a positive experience as I seem to be much more productive here than at the hotel room.
