Google Play & Chrome Web Store

Over the past few days I released Solitaire FRVR on Google Play and the Chrome Web Store. While I have plans to release in at-least 15 stores, these two stores where first as they both allow for quick iteration without to much delay in the approval process. This allows me to follow my model of releasing early and relying on future updates for product improvement.

To seed the apps with users, I have added a small promotional system to Solitaire FRVR that detects the current environment and displays a promotion in the bottom center of the game.

While it would convert more users if I used more aggressive promotions, these simple buttons should create steady stream of users I can experiment with as I improve the game.

For users playing via a browser or device that does not supports a store, I choose to simply show a Facebook like button, as I deem it the most valuable action the user can take, besides installing the app.

To ensure I understand how users interact with the apps, I wrote a Google Analytics wrapper that allows me to use exactly the same tracking inside the apps as on the web version. This also has the nice side effect of giving me a single holistic view of how well the game is performing, regardless of platform.
